Derek Bourgeois (natural Kingston on Thames, 1941) is an English composer. Enlightened at Cambridge University (honours degree and doctor's degree), he spent Two years at a Royal College of Music studying composition with Herbert Howells and conducting with Sir Adrian Boult.

From either 1970 to 1984 he was the lecturer inside music at Bristol University. He was so Director of Music at St Paul's Girls School, London. He has likewise conducted various orchestras. He retired to Majorca in 2002, and at present focuses alone in composing.
